Basic clue on how to find inspiration from within

Finding Inspiration can sometimes be a tough task, especially when everything around you seems to be depressing. The good news is that you’re not the only one that has experienced this as lots of other people have battled to get inspired to be better.

It is even more difficult if you’re the type of person that is used to been on top and in control of things and you all of a sudden find yourself struggling to get back your sense of perspective.

The truth is when you find yourself in this situation, little setbacks can bring you to a screeching halt and you find yourself feeling depressed because the possibilities of being better doesn’t seem as open and forthcoming as they once were.

It’s however not all doom and gloom as you can still get the inspiration you need from within you. All you need to do is step back and widen your view of the world.

View Old Things In An Entirely Different Way
Looking at a particular problem for too long is problematic in a lot of ways as you tend not to see it anymore. To get the inspiration you need, you should change your perspective and look at your environment wit new eyes.

A simple exercise you can do is to pick three random ordinary objects you can see in your environment and spend 2 minutes thinking of new ways you can use or present those objects. Avoid over thinking the use of those objects, and you’d get the inspiration you need.

Adopt The Interests Of Others
You can try adopting the interests and opinions of others. Be on the lookout for a friend or colleague that has an interest in things you don’t really understand or vibe with such as romance novels, watching telenovelas, playing chess or volunteering.

Take your time and find out the things they love about their hobbies or alternatively take them out and listen to them talk about their interests. You’d most likely get an inspiration to continue or start yours.

Tell Your Story Out Loud
If you’re able to tell.your story out loud to yourself, chances are you will be able to find where you went wrong or even discover new ways through which you can be inspired to do new things.

You can also try describing your situation to someone and ask them to repeat same back to you. Proceed to ask them questions like “What do you think is the crux of the problem?” and “Where do you see opportunity?”

Ask Yourself What You Would Say
Ask yourself how you would react to the particular situation you found yourself in if you found yourself in a different situation. What would you say or do if you were an eight year old child? If you were a grandparent? Or if you found yourself in a war situation? Your imaginary advisers should be able to provide you with the inspiration you need to generate ideas and fresh solutions.

Act as if…
Putting up an act is another good way to get inspired. Write out these words and attempt to finish up the sentences:
I won’t ____ .
I can’t ____ .
I don’t ____ .

After writing them out, cross out Now cross out won’t, can’t and don’t. Try reading the statements again and you will be inspired to act and do those things that you’ve lacked the inspiration to do.
