Depression is characterized by sudden loss of interest in activities, in other words you are bored with your day-day activities. Why not have a change, pick up new hobby,read books,exercise, you don't have to hit a gym before you exercise,you can try Jogging. Exercise goes a long way in helping you clear your mind and feel better. If you find out that doing some certain things leave you more depressed, refrain from doing them, no matter how enticing it might be, at least for some time until you gain stability.
2. DON'T BE MENTALLY IDLE:
I'm sure you've come across the old saying- "an Idle mind is a devil's workshop", well it's not just a saying ,it's the truth. And as long as you keep on neglecting your mind, you let it wander about, it's gonna continue to be negative.
But if you try as much as possible not to leave your mind blank,deliberately think about "good old days, what makes you happy, how to achieve some goals...". No matter how bad things are right now,find something (Now I really wish I can help you with this ,but I can't, this has to be you!) things when you take your mind back to them, make you smile.
3. WITH CONSCIOUSNESS FOCUS ON POSITIVITY AND HOW YOU CAN BE THE BEST:
When you've got hold of such memories, hold on to them,don't let them fade away,if necessary write them on a piece of paper and carry it with you all day,I know it sounds silly, but hey,whatever works right? Don't go through the day dwelling, focusing on negatives, been bitter about things, it exacerbates symptoms of depression.
4. FREQUENTLY TALK TO SOMEONE.
This has proven to be a quick and efficient way to get yourself out of a bad mood. In case of depression,it might take a little more than that,but it certainly does help to unburden your heart by talking to someone, might be a friend, sibling, counselor, relative- anyone! And if you think you really need help,book an appointment with a therapist or a spiritual leader,there's no shame in doing that
Always remember this.... Depression is all about the mind. Feelings follow closely on the heels of thoughts. You stop dwelling on the negatives, and you'll find yourself on the way to recovery. Hard drugs are far from the solution. Oftentimes depressed people after grasping the hope of freedom, mostly remain free for extraordinary exploit.
